Chi siamo

Storie Sotto Le Stelle nasce da una madre e un figlio: Lucia e Marco Ciappelli (marcociappelli.com). Lucia scrive da Firenze; Marco da Los Angeles. Tra due città e un oceano, ci ritroviamo sotto le stesse stelle a inventare racconti.

Le nostre storie nascono in italiano e vivono anche in inglese, da leggere e — presto di nuovo — da ascoltare. Sono storie brevi, pensate per i bambini di ogni età, ma anche per i grandi che non hanno mai smesso di immaginare.

Alcune sono leggere e giocose, fatte per un sorriso prima di dormire. Altre vanno un po' più in profondità, dove l'ordinario incontra lo straordinario, e dove — a volte — si nasconde una piccola verità sul mondo.

Le parole sono scritte da noi, a mano e col cuore. Per le illustrazioni, le traduzioni e le letture ci facciamo aiutare dalla tecnologia dell'intelligenza artificiale — ma l'anima delle storie è, e resta, umana.

Un giorno ho scoperto che mia mamma aveva un talento per inventare storie — una cosa che, crescendo, mi era sempre sembrata del tutto normale. Scriverle insieme è diventato il nostro modo di restare ancora più vicini, nonostante l'oceano tra noi. Si è rivelata un'esperienza più bella di quanto immaginassi: un modo per condividere la nostra fantasia e creare storie che fanno bene non solo a noi, ma anche a chi le legge — piccoli e grandi.

Who we are

Storie Sotto Le Stelle — Stories Under the Stars — is written by a mother and her son: Lucia and Marco Ciappelli (marcociappelli.com). Lucia writes from Florence; Marco from Los Angeles. Across two cities and an ocean, we meet under the same stars to make up stories.

Our tales are born in Italian and also live in English, to read and — soon again — to listen to. They are short stories for children of every age, and for grown-ups who never stopped imagining.

Some are light and playful, made for a smile before sleep. Others go a little deeper, where the ordinary meets the extraordinary — and where, sometimes, a small truth about the world is hiding.

The words are written by us, by hand and from the heart. For the illustrations, translations, and readings we draw on the help of AI technology — but the soul of the stories is, and remains, human.

One day I discovered that my mom had a gift for imagining stories — something that, growing up, had always felt perfectly normal to me. Writing them together became our way to stay even closer despite the ocean between us. It turned into something more than I expected: a way to share our imagination and to create stories that are good not only for us, but for everyone who reads them — young or grown.
